He is one of Swedish football’s true greats.
Today Tomas Brolin turns 54 years old.
And shows the private picture from the most unexpected celebration.
It was in the clubs GIF Sundsvall and IFK Norrköping that Thomas Brolin broke through in Swedish football before the move went on to Italy and games in Parma. There, Hudiksvallssonen would have his big international breakthrough and become a name on everyone’s lips.
Brolin’s career
Five seasons were in Serie A and during the time at Parma, Brolin went to the USA to become immortal with the Swedish national team in the 1994 FIFA World Cup. Relegated to right midfielder, he would become one of the major key players for the historic bronze medal that was salvaged in North America on unforgettable summer.

Brolin was also selected for the World XI in the 1994 World Cup and then returned to Italy as a celebrated big star. It would then result in a move to the major league Premier League a year later and play in the classic team Leeds United.
The hard years
But this is where the problems began for Tomas Brolin and his career would never be as successful again. The time at Leeds was incredibly tough and it would then get even worse when he moved on to Crystal Palace.

Brolin finally had enough in 1998 and chose to end his football career in record time after several difficult years. Only 28 years old, he put his shoes on the famous shelf for good, but is still regarded as one of Swedish football’s truly great players of all time.
Unexpected celebration
With an impressive 27 goals in 47 international matches, it can also be said that he had a very good goal average in the blue and yellow national team shirt. Since the farewell to the playing career, we have not seen Brolin return to football in any other kind of role.

Today the Swedish football hero turns 54 years old and seems to have secretly celebrated his birthday in advance when he invited to the most unexpected party this weekend, see the pictures below. Brolin invited friends and relatives to a Christmas party(!) in Sigtuna when it is still only November.
“Thank you to everyone who came to the Christmas party,” he writes on Instagram to the pictures of himself in Santa clothes.
