Tomas Brolin ended his football career in 1998, and has since lived a life outside of football.
Until now?
The icon has now revealed that he may return to the world of football.
If you know the least bit about football, you of course know who Thomas Brolin is. The Swedish icon took home the WC bronze in 1994, and was also selected for the world team after his performances in the championship. If you disregard Zlatan Ibrahimovic who with his 12 Golden Balls can almost be seen as out of the competition, so Brolin also belongs to the exclusive group that has taken home the Golden Ball twice.
Opens for return
Despite the success during the 1990s, Tomas Brolin chose to end his football career in 1998. On November 16, 1994, the striker broke his foot during a match against Hungary in Råsunda, and after the injury he never really came back. Instead, the now 53-year-old legend has made a living as a restaurant owner and businessman.

But the door does not seem to be closed for a return to the world of football. Tomas Brolin believes that he “has ideas” that could come in handy.
– Possibly, maybe, maybe that I could be involved as a second fiddle, assistant coach, at some point in the future. That’s the only thing I can think of. I have some ideas, he tells Aftonbladet.

Brolin elaborates:
– I watch football and wonder why people don’t do things a little differently. It’s probably the most fixed situations I get stuck around. Why do the teams act the way they do on free kicks, corners and even throw-ins. Throw-in is an important part, but how much do you practice it? I like these details, he tells the newspaper.
“Got some stuff”
Tomas Brolin also says that he hardly watches matches, rather the opposite as he constantly analyzes and thinks about the situations that arise on the pitch.
– I don’t just watch all the matches, you start to think actively sometimes, he says and at the same time reveals that there is one or another variant à la 1994 that could be picked out.
– I have some things. It’s mostly my son (Sebastian Brolineveryday in Hammarby TFF) who got to see them and then it was about how he should run on corners.
