Fans will probably have to accept that no 15th season of Blue Bloods – Crime Scene New York will give. Even though the cast themselves have repeatedly spoken out publicly against the cancellation of the series, the broadcaster CBS has now apparently made a final judgment. When the program for the next TV season was announced, Blue Bloods was no longer there.
Now it was Tom Selleck asked again about the end of the series. The star continues to be combative and won’t just accept a Blue Bloods exit.
Tom Selleck still believes in a Blue Bloods extension
Although any hope for the series’ future seems futile, Selleck remains optimistic. According to Cinema Blend, he was a guest on CBS Sunday Morning where he was asked if Blue Bloods really ends. To which he replied:
Well, that’s a good question. I will continue to assume that CBS will come to their senses. We are the show with the third highest ratings in the entire broadcast area. We win the night, the entire cast wants to come back. I can tell you this: We are not sliding off a cliff; We do good shows. And still hold our place. Well, I do not know. You tell me.
Selleck continues to fight for the future of Blue Bloods by emphasizing the series’ high market value. It’s not the first time that he has spoken out so clearly in favor of the series. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach recently stated that the Blue Bloods farewell will be difficult, but should be certain.
Before the current 14th season the series was already on the brink. The new episodes could only be secured if the cast gave up part of their salary in order to save costs. This plan no longer seems to be an option for a 15th season.
