Tom Holland is best known for his role as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For a few years he’s been trying to get himself too away from cinema blockbusters position as an actor. Especially with the streaming service Apple TV + he has found a large playground.
After Holland fronting war returnee drama Cherry two years ago, he’s now returning to Apple TV+ with a series. The Crowded Room is based on the novel The Minds of Billy Milligan by Daniel Keyes and tells the true story of a murderer who suffers from multiple personality disorder.

In The Crowded Room, Holland slips into the shoes of Danny Sullivan, who lives in New York and is arrested in a shooting in 1979. He tells the police that he is completely innocent. Due to the personality disorder, he completely suppresses the truth and sees himself as a victim.

The second major role in the series is played by Amanda Seyfried, who recently excelled in The Dropout. Seyfried takes over the part of Rya Goodwin, an interrogator who takes on Danny’s cases. In the course of her interrogations, she delves deeper and deeper into the disturbing past of her counterpart.
When will The Crowded Room start on Apple TV+?
The Crowded Room launches on June 9, 2023 on Apple TV+. At launch, the first three episodes will be released. The remaining seven episodes of the miniseries will then follow on a weekly basis.
