One of Tom Cruise’s biggest series is getting ready for a new movie. Top Gun 3 has begun development. There are claims that it could come after Mission: Impossible 8.
One of Tom Cruise’s biggest franchises is getting ready to take flight again. On Thursday evening, Puck News reported that the third film in which Cruise is expected to return with Top Gun is Top Gun 3, reported that it is under construction. Maverick is expected to return with lead actors Miles Teller and Glen Powell. According to the report, Maverick co-writer Ehren Kruger has now started working on the script.
Producers Jerry Bruckheimer and David Ellison are also involved. Maverick director Joseph Kosinski is expected to either direct or serve as producer. There is a report out there, although it has not been officially confirmed by Paramount Pictures. This report states that Top Gun 3 could be Cruise’s next movie after the upcoming Mission: Impossible 8.
This news comes just days after Motion Picture Group Co-Chairmen and CEOs Micheal De Luca & Pam Abdy signed a deal to develop both original and franchise films together. It is reported that depending on how Cruise’s schedule shapes up, there is a possibility that his projects with Warner Bros. will be postponed until late 2025.
What Will Top Gun 3 Be About?
Following the success of the Top Gun series, which was released in 2022, there have been many rumors that a third movie is on the way. Bruckheimer had repeatedly expressed timidity about this possibility. On the other hand, Kosinski has previously hinted that there are more stories to be told with Cruise’s character Pete “Maverick” Mitchell.
What Will Mission: Impossible 8 Be About?
Mission Impossible 8 is expected to continue the narrative of 2023’s Mission: Impossible. Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One sees Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) face off against one of his most personal enemies yet. Last fall, Mission: Impossible 8 was officially delayed until 2025.
