A lot of anger has been aroused among Leksand’s supporters.
Now they react by reporting SVT to the review board.
– We think it is very serious that the public service does not take its mission seriously, says chairman Niklas Niva Sjökvist to Aftonbladet.
It was in April that SVT released a television documentary called “Hatet i Leksand”. Where they report on the great chaos in Leksands IF around the election committee and proposed board members who have received both hate and threats in the work to appoint a new board for the hockey club.
Leksand’s anger
SVT Play writes the following explanation of the program’s purpose:
“One was called h**a and f***a. Another had to seek psychological help. Others felt intimidated into silence. In an investigation carried out by SVT Sport and SVT Dalarna, several people are now speaking for the first time about what happened when they wanted to modernize and professionalize the ice hockey club Leksands IF.”

The TV documentary has aroused a great rage in Leksand and now the supporters’ association Leksands Superstars is acting. They report SVT to the review board and the Media Ombudsman, so it is considered that SVT violated their own principles of being impartial.
Notifies SVT
According to the supporters’ association, there has been no talk of any hatred at all. They also believe that the TV documentary gives a very one-sided version of what has happened within Leksands IF.
– We think it is very serious that the public service does not take its mission seriously, but instead spreads conspiracy theories and pure inaccuracies. The real hatred is what was directed at us and especially our club manager Torbjörn Olsson after the program was broadcast, says Niklas Niva Sjökvistchairman of Leksand Superstars, to Aftonbladet.

There are a lot of details that are not at all correct in the TV documentary by SVT, the supporters’ association believes. Above all, no threatening text message has been sent to a person in the election committee and, moreover, the title “Hate in Leksand” lacks coverage to describe the situation.
– The investigation reveals a case of molestation, which is the most egregious occurrence that the external investigators found and which is also described in the investigation. This is directed at one of the election committee’s opponents, i.e. the side that SVT portrays as driving behind the alleged hatred. SVT omits this fact completely, says Sjökvist in his statement.
