The power of cold seems to have no limits in the world of beauty. Something that has not escaped the notice of TikTok users who compete in ingenuity to offer tips as fresh as they are natural. The latest? Concoct an ice cube of aloe vera to hydrate your skin while giving it radiance, elasticity and firmness. An entire program.
Has the ice cube become the new beauty must-have? Everything leads us to believe it with regard to the proliferation of tricks involving the small frozen cube, and the emergence of products and tools inspired by its many cosmetic properties. A phenomenon that has not escaped the favorite social network of younger generations, TikTok, where the ice cube is now the ultimate beauty ally. Natural, accessible, and effective… What more could you ask for? After having experienced the thousand and one virtues of this piece of artificial ice, in forms as diverse as they are innovative, users are now trying to combine it with natural ingredients with equally powerful virtues, like aloe vera, which is also unanimous among consumers. An unexpected mix that should not leave anyone indifferent.
Hydration and radiance
Beauty influencer Jaclyn Hill is one of the Chinese social network users who swear by this beauty secret. This involves mixing water with an aloe vera leaf, one of the most popular natural ingredients in the world, then placing it in the freezer to form an ice cube. In her video, the American influencer claims to pass it daily on her face for 5 minutes, after removing makeup and cleansing her skin. A recipe that would take advantage of the properties of the cold, combined with those of aloe vera. The idea is to deeply moisturize the skin while providing radiance, soothing, and firmness. The icing on the cake, this tip would also get rid of visible pores for a perfectly smooth complexion.
This beauty technique is just another variation of the many ice-based gestures and tricks that can be found on the Chinese social network, and which is called skin-icing. But it must be recognized that it has met with some success. The hashtag #frozenaloevera has generated more than 3 million views to date. The aloe vera ice cube – or frozen aloe vera – follows the frozen cucumber, which is based on exactly the same principle, the frozen beauty blender, which would facilitate the application of foundation while reducing dark circles, or still with ice globes which would soothe the skin while acting against inflammation and imperfections.
The enthusiasm for the virtues of cold is such that brands have developed new products and tools for cryotherapy, in other words cold treatment, in recent months. Ice globes are now commercially available for home use, as are cooling masks, roll-ons and cold effect sticks. A booming market which, given the interest in these products on social networks, is not about to run out of steam.
