There really should be something for everyone: Tonight there is an action-packed, dark and pretty hard sci-fi film with Vin Diesel on TV. But before that there is also an extremely funny Star Wars parody that will leave no one dry in the room. We are talking about Spaceballs and Pitch Black, of course.

What happens to Vin Diesel in Pitch Black?
The story of the first Riddick film revolves around a spaceship that crashed on an unknown planet. The survivors include a highly dangerous Serious criminal who can see particularly well in the dark. Which turns out to be extremely practical, because this inhospitable planet is home to bloodthirsty aliens who only dare to leave their cave system in the dark – and a long-lasting, total solar eclipse is imminent.

The two sci-fi films are as different as they are entertaining
Spaceballs doesn’t shy away from any cliché and makes fun of everything that the sci-fi genre had to offer at the timeFirst and foremost, of course, Star Wars: It’s all about the juice, incredible amounts of merchandise, a man-at-arms (half human, half mutt), a legendary pizza villain and many other absurdities. Sometimes the film is played at ridiculous speed or fast-forwarded. But Alien, Star Trek and Planet of the Apes also get their fair share.
Pitch Black impresses with a then still very unknown and young Vin Diesel, who completely immerses himself in his role. We also get straightforward, direct and, above all, extremely exciting sci-fi action served up, which doesn’t have to hide from today’s representatives of the genre. No wonder, then, that the film got several sequels.
