Today the overwhelming finale of the greatest fantasy series ever

Join Harry, Ron and Hermione for one final fantasy adventure in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, on TV tonight. The wizarding finale is a rarity in the blockbuster business.

Epic fantasy finale on TV: Harry prepares for the final confrontation with Voldemort

JK Rowling wrote the story of Harry Potter in seven books, but the last novel was adapted for the cinema into two films. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 1 was a comparatively quiet adventure in which the trio prepared once and for all for the end of their childhood (and possibly their lives). In part 2, however, everything revolves around the final confrontation between Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes), i.e. the battle of good against evil.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2

After three Horcruxes, which contain parts of Voldemort’s soul and make him immortal, were destroyed in part 1, the three friends Harry, Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) embark on a dangerous search for the remaining Horcruxes. If everything goes wrong, there are still the legendary Deathly HallowsCould these be the last hope for Harry Potter or could they have fatal consequences in the wrong hands?

In the fantasy series, the division of the finale works

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2 is the culmination of the epic fantasy story, and it goes beyond the battle between Harry and Voldemort. Numerous characters from the series’ history are brought together again by the conflict, while decades-old secrets finally come to light. And then there is the Battle of Hogwarts, which is supposed to top everything the Harry Potter films have shown before in terms of magical action.

Whether you prefer the battles from Part 2 or the melancholic road movie from Part 1: The Harry Potter series is one of the few blockbuster series in which the division of the finale was convincing. This is also due to the independent character of the two films. Tonight you can watch the ultimate fantasy spectacle, but it only touches the heart because the previous films have done so much groundwork.
