  • Today is the verdict in the Emelie Meng case

17-year-old Emelie Meng was raped and murdered in the summer of 2016 in Denmark. Today around 10 o’clock, the verdict will be handed down against the defendant, 33-year-old Philip Westh, who is suspected of the crime.

The murder of Emelie Meng seemed to remain unsolved for a long time, but on April 15 last year, a 13-year-old girl was abducted from Kirkerup in Denmark and subjected to serious sexual abuse.

The next day, she was found by the police in the 33-year-old’s residence and the case could be linked to the murder of Emelie.

The 13-year-old from the Kirkerup case will appear at the trial.

    – But we have said that we do not foresee them being able to sit in a government where we participate in some way and that message is firm.

The Riksdag has recently said yes to the DCA agreement between Sweden and the USA, and the government has announced that the agreement can enter into force in August.

American soldiers get access to 17 Swedish military bases and the opportunity to pre-store weapons and other material.

The agreement also means that Sweden can more quickly receive military support from the United States in a deteriorating security situation.
