Escape from Tarkov has rolled out its new patch 0.13 to the servers. Included is the Streets of Tarkov map, which has been in development for more than 2.5 years. The nasty PvEvP shooter Escape from Tarkov is a small phenomenon. The shooter is extremely difficult, only runs on its own launcher and regularly resets the progress of all players. Nevertheless, Tarkov is very successful and has repeatedly caused a small hype in recent years.
It even defined the sub-genre of extraction shooters, heavily influencing much larger shooters – Call of Duty brought their DMZ mode, Battlefield tried it too with Hazard Zone.
Hard-hitting realism, deep gameplay mechanics and a latently high pulse – this is how Escape from Tarkov convinces its players. With patch 0.13, a new era of the shooter begins, because the next wipe is coming up and a long-awaited map is finally coming into play – “Streets of Tarkov”.

Escape from Tarkov: Patch 0.13 brings Wipe and Streets of Tarkov
What happens when you wipe? Escape from Tarkov regularly deletes the saves of all players. Everyone has to restart, repeat merchant reputation missions, collect equipment, hoard keys. That’s part of Tarkov and is well received.
You only start with the base inventory, which is determined by the game version you bought.
Why is this the perfect time for Tarkov? All players are more or less on the same level, gradually working on their missions and spread across the different maps.
The top players will be busy for the next few days getting their gear back in shape and grinding the Streets of Tarkov name map.
If you’re a newcomer or coming back to Tarkov, you can get into the game on the Customs Grounds map without getting a headshot from the meanest characters in the game.

What do the patch notes show? The highlight of the update is the new map “Streets of Tarkov” – players have been waiting for the new region for over 2.5 years. Here you fight your way through the streets of the city, with many accessible buildings, dangerous NPCs and an unprecedented level of detail.

Extraction shooters shift the focus from pure kill hunting to more gear-based missions. Encounters with other players are more of a coincidence and due to the large maps with their many details, no battle is like the other – a special dynamic is created.
