The high summer heat is here.
Take out the sunglasses, eat your favorite ice cream and take the opportunity to enjoy, advises TV4’s meteorologist Linda Eriksson.
It could be the hottest day of the year so far today – with up to 26 degrees in some places.
Summer heat and a lot of sun has swept over our elongated country. Tuesday offers temperatures of 18-23 degrees in southern and central Sweden, but in eastern Svealand and further up to eastern Norrland it can be even hotter.
– It could be 26 degrees, which in that case would be the hottest day of the year so far, says TV4’s meteorologist Linda Eriksson.
Can be beaten already this week
For it to be a new high for the year, the temperatures need to be above 25.6 degrees, which is the highest so far, which Halmstad had on May 1st. But you won’t know that until after 20.00 tonight when the final temperatures are reported to SMHI and determined.
And the “record” may already be broken shortly.
– It is not impossible that a new high for the year will be reached again this week because the warm air will remain, says Linda Eriksson.
Will be minus degrees
In between, however, it is expected to get colder in the northernmost parts of the country and on the night of Thursday it may even be minus degrees, according to Eriksson. But the rest of Sweden can count on summer temperatures for the rest of the week.
– The sun coincides with veil clouds and cumulus clouds, so it is not a clear blue sky throughout the country all the time. It varies a little during the week, she says.
However, how long it lasts is uncertain. Already next week, slightly cooler air is expected to move in over the country and the temperature will drop to around 20 degrees in large parts of the country.
– Take the opportunity to enjoy the heat this week, don’t forget the sunglasses and eat a lot of ice cream, says Linda Eriksson.
