In the simple story of the film by director Jon Turteltaub (The Templars), Statham plays the elite rescue diver Jonas Taylor, who is tasked with recovering a wrecked submarine in the Mariana Trench. Here he and the crew come across a prehistoric monster sharkwhich sets off deadly chaos.
In addition to Statham, Meg also features stars such as Li Bingbing (Forbidden Kingdom), Rainn Wilson (The Office) and Ruby Rose (John Wick: Chapter 2).

After Meg grossed over $500 million at the worldwide box office, its 2023 sequel, Meg 2: The Deep, was also a financial success, grossing nearly $400 million worldwide.
