In the Lunetten district, alderman Susanne Schilderman is today screwing such a toad ladder into a drain, also known as sidewalk drains and street drains. “In districts with a lot of water and greenery, more toads end up in the drains. But you also see it in Leidsche Rijn. So every new drain we are going to place will have such a ladder from now on,” says the alderman.
