Spam emails invade our mailbox and we are all used to deleting them, one by one, upon receipt. But it wouldn’t be the best thing to do so that they don’t resurface in the following days.
Over time, our inbox becomes more and more saturated, mainly with advertisements. If you shop online or subscribe to major retailers or other stores, you may receive any current promotions. Sometimes, these are also geolocalized advertisements, for example, if you have visited a perfume store several times, or on an online sales site, you have a good chance of being inundated with emails. There are therefore many spam messages and while some are directly placed in the Spam section, others arrive directly in our inbox. We then tend to delete them one by one, manually. But that wouldn’t be the best thing to do to get rid of it in the long term.
Indeed, deleting an email that you consider unwanted in your mailbox will automatically move it to your trash, but that does not mean that you will no longer receive this type of email in the coming days. To get rid of it permanently, two options are available to you. The first, which everyone knows, consists of opening the email in question and unsubscribing from the mailing list, but this is a bit long, especially if you have to do this for all the emails received.
The best strategy would then be to move unwanted emails to your Spam folder, each time you receive them in your inbox. This will help you better filter emails that you consider to be “spam”, and your email provider will be able to more easily place them directly in this box for future mailings. Depending on your mailbox, all you have to do is click on the “move to > spam” button or drag the email into the corresponding folder.
All that remains is to empty your spam to delete it permanently, then your trash to make some room and reduce the space in your mailbox. Also, don’t forget to go to your Spam folder from time to time, because – conversely – certain important emails are sometimes stored there by mistake. It is therefore worth taking a look, especially if you are waiting for an email that you still have not received.
