You don’t have to wait until the last minute to make your Christmas presents… Patrick Jocteur Monrozier, director of the King Cadeau stores, reveals the best dates for good deals.
Every year, Christmas gifts and toys represent a huge budget for the French. If some parents anticipate, others are “forced” to wait until the last minute to know with a little more precision the choice of their children’s toys. They list their wishes in a letter written to Santa Claus… Which they send to the secretariat between mid-November and mid-December. But you don’t have to wait until the last minute to do your shopping. For Patrick Jocteur Monrozier, director of King Cadeau stores, there is indeed a favorable period for promotions in toy stores.
Of course, there is the traditional “Black Friday” which takes place this year on Friday November 22. But “the best time to buy Christmas toys at low prices is the month of November and more precisely, the catalog period“, confirms the store director. At King Cadeau, it begins on October 23 and continues until December 2, 2024. “It is on these dates that we have the most promotions and certain products are on sale at -50%“.
Then, from December, prices are likely to increase, returning to the selling price. “No one is able to absorb all the orders in the month of December alone. This is why we position the toy catalogs upstream, to be able to process orders, but also to better advise customers.”.
Other attractive offers are also put in place before the catalogs are launched, for parents who already know what they want to buy. To mark the brand’s 35th anniversary, the second toy is 35% off, a promotion which should last until Christmas. From October 16 to 27, parents can also sort and bring back an old toy which will then be recycled. In exchange, a 5 euro voucher is given, up to a limit of five vouchers per person.
Don’t hesitate to compare offers between different toy stores. In addition, catalog dates differ from one brand to another, and you could find attractive promotions depending on your child’s favorite product.
