To avoid any risk of intrusion, it is advisable to modify the password used to access the management interface of your Livebox. You will thus limit the possibilities of access, while remaining the only one to control it.
The password to access the Livebox interface is made up of the first eight characters (in UPPERCASE and without spaces) of the security key, which you will find on the label of your Livebox. In order to protect access to it, it is better to modify it with another one that is more secure and difficult to guess (composed of upper and lower case letters, numbers, special characters, etc.).
How do I access the Livebox administration area?
To access the administration area of your Livebox, check that your device (computer, smartphone, tablet) is connected to the box via WI-FI or using an Ethernet cable and that your Livebox is switched on .
► To access the administration page of your Livebox, open your usual web browser, type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar, then press the key Hall to validate.
► You are now on the administration page of your Livebox, you must now log in. To do this, you must type in the password field the password of your Livebox.
► You are now connected to the administration area of your Livebox.
How to change the Livebox administration password?
► Click on the tab Advanced Setup.
► Click on Administration.
► Type your current password and the new password you wish to have, then confirm it.
► Click the button To register.
► A message will appear to confirm the Livebox administration password change.
► Following this change in your password, you have been disconnected from the administration space, you will only need to reconnect with your new password to access the administration space of your Livebox again.
