“If I wanted to come third overall, there was no other option but to win. So today’s plan was simply to scratch everyone and it went completely according to plan,” says Tjäder in a press release.
Tjäder won Saturday’s competition with a score of 94.25. Evan McEachran, Canada, was second in 93.00 and Birk Ruud, Norway, third in 92.50.
“The last time I won a World Cup competition, it was in Silvaplana. But it was nine years ago now, so it really was time again. And those are also my only two wins at the World Cup. So it seems like a good place for me,” he says.
Ruud won the overall slopestyle cup ahead of Andri Ragettli, Switzerland, and Tjäder.
