(Telestock) – Slightly rising values for the Milan Stock Exchange and the rest of Euroland is trading at parity. Over the past 24 hours, U.S. macroeconomic data has reassured investors: a larger-than-expected decline in weekly jobless claims has eased recession fears for the world’s largest economy, which had helped trigger a significant sell-off earlier in the week.
On the macroeconomic frontin France the unemployment rate decreased to 7.3% in the 2nd quarter. In Italyfor the month of July 2024, Istat estimates that the consumer price index increased by 0.4% on a monthly basis (revised downwards from the preliminary +0.5%) and by 1.3% on an annual basis (from +0.8% in the previous month, confirming the preliminary estimate).
On the front of the quarterlythis morning we received instructions from Italian insurance sector. General closed the first half of the year with an operating result up 1.6% to 3.7 billion and a net profit down less than expected; in addition, it also announced the start of the buyback plan up to 500 million. Unipol Instead, it recorded a consolidated net profit of 555 million euros in the first six months of the year, up 7.4% supported by the performance of the Damage branch.
No significant changes for theEuro / US Dollarwhich is trading at the same levels as yesterday at 1.092. Thegoldwhich continues the session at the levels of the day before at 2,428.6 dollars per ounce. A slightly higher session for the petrolium (Light Sweet Crude Oil), which advances to $76.53 per barrel.
At the same levels as yesterday spreadwhich remains at +144 basis points, with the 10-year BTP yield which stands at 3.65%.
Among the main European stock exchanges without momentum Frankfurtwhich is trading at +0.11%, a modest performance for Londonwhich shows a moderate increase of 0.36%, and resistant Pariswhich marks a small increase of 0.29%.
Slight increase for the Milan Stock Exchangewith the FTSE MIB which rises by 0.23% to 31,816 points; along the same lines, the FTSE Italia All-Share makes a small leap forward of 0.25%, reaching 33,920 points. Fractional gains for the FTSE Italia Mid Cap (+0.56%); with the same direction, moderately rising FTSE Italia Star (+0.36%).
Among the best performers from Milan, in evidence Leonardo (+2.55%), Mediolanum Bank (+2.53%), Nexi (+2.31%) and Telecom Italia (+1.71%).
The strongest drops, however, occur on Generali Insurancewhich continues the session with -2.17%. Weak Amplifierwhich shows a small decrease of 0.85%. Modest decline for Stellantiswhich gives up a small -0.55%.
At the top among Italian stocks mid cap, OVS (+2.85%), Digital Value (+2.57%), Ariston Holding (+1.94%) and I believe (+1.64%).
The worst performances, however, are recorded on Ascopiavewhich gets -1.73%. Pensive Technoprobewith a fractional decline of 1.16%. He wavers Decemberwith a modest decline of 0.96%. A slow day for The Italian Sea Groupwhich marks a decrease of 0.81%.
