Time for a fun electric car

The new ID.3 GTX is mentioned in the same context as the Golf GTI Clubsport, despite the Germans refusing to use the GTI designation on the new sporty electric car.

According to Volkswagen themselves, it is not worthy of the GTI badge.

Having said that, the ID.3 GTX Performance gets the brand’s most powerful electric motor, which delivers a whopping 326 horsepower.

In the Performance variant, the ID.3 GTX thus gets 326 horsepower, which goes down the hill via the rear wheels.

The reason is said to be partly because it makes the car much more enjoyable to drive, partly because it would have been too expensive to make the ID.3 GTX four-wheel drive.

It is also possible to get the ID.3 GTX with an electric motor of 286 horsepower.

The cars do 0-100 km/h in 5.6 and 6.0 seconds, respectively, and have a top speed of 180 and 200 km/h.

Although Volkswagen does not want to use the GTI designation on the new ID.3, the new red paint is a way to draw attention to the first generation Golf GTI.

Otherwise, the ID.3 GTX gets a special front and rear end, unique rims, as well as a myriad of black details.

Inside, you get a 12.9-inch infotainment system with the brand’s latest software, which for example includes ChatGPT.

The range is estimated at 600 kilometers and the ID.3 GTX can be charged with up to 175 kW.

The Volkswagen ID.3 GTX will go on sale during the summer, which is also when the price will be announced.
