– Great to get to the fair and get to help the team. I already thought that it would be sweet to play for Gnistan, but after the fire I got the feeling that I definitely want to help the club.
CEO of Gnistan Oy Ilkka Vanala.
– The Veikkausliiga’s game demands are tough, and we need additional reinforcements to ensure our competitiveness for the rest of the season as well. Our goal is to continue playing the Veikkausliiga in Oulunkylä next season as well. We started the measures aimed at strengthening the team well in advance at the end of June, and it’s great to be able to now, in the middle of otherwise sad times, tell about this very positive thing.
Väyrynen has previously played in the Veikkausliiga for FC Honga, HJK and KuPS. He has also gained playing experience in Germany, Holland and Albania. Väyrysente has also represented Huuhkaji in 13 A national matches.
Vanala says that negotiations with Väyrynen had already started before the fire at Gnistan’s home stadium.
– At this point, I want to underline that things with Tim were largely already agreed upon before the fire. Team building and the player budget are a whole that is planned and budgeted before the season. At this point, we are strengthening our competitive activities as planned.
Gnistan is currently training at the Töölö Ball Field, Oulunkylä, due to a fire at his home stadium.
