TIM Brazil Antitrust approves purchase of Oi mobile assets

(Finance) – Green light from the Brazilian Antitrust, Cade, to the sale of mobile assets Oi a TIM, Telefonica and Claro. Three of the six councilors of the authority were in favor of approval, while three voted against. The deciding vote was that of president of the Cade, Alexandre Cordeirowhich decided to sell the assets.

On the other hand, it was unanimously established that the representation presented by the Federal Public Prosecutor be sent to the General Superintendency for the initiation of an administrative investigation that investigates a possible anti-competitive practice in the negotiation. The 16.5 billion reais agreement had already been approved by Anatel at the end of January.
