Krista Wright will be joining the hospital team in the Rapid Assessment Fast Track area within the emergency department as of Sept. 23.
“I look forward to providing personalized, high-quality care and making a positive impact on the health and well-being of the people of this region,” Wright said in a media release. “It’s an honor to be part of a team dedicated to ensuring that every patient receives the care they need, close to home.”
The emergency department nurse practitioner is a self-directed advanced practice nurse who functions in an expanded nursing role. They can practice independently and perform health assessments, diagnosis, and management of illness and injuries.
Located in the emergency department, patients presenting with low acuity, non-urgent conditions may be seen in the Rapid Assessment Fast Track area by the nurse practitioner who will not replace family physician services, renew prescriptions or provide follow-up appointments.

“By integrating this role into our healthcare team, we anticipate a positive impact on patient outcomes and workflow efficiency. Her expertise and unique perspective will enrich and strengthen our clinical capabilities. Together we will provide exceptional, patient-centered care and ensure that every individual who walks through our doors receives the highest quality retreatment.”
