Tillsonburg man wins 500502 in LottoMax lottery

A Tillsonburg man plans to buy a new toolbox with some of the $500,002 he won in the LottoMax lottery on July 23.

Simon Muggleton, 46, a service manager, told lottery officials he was surprised when he discovered his win.

“It was a big shock,” he said at the OLG Prize Center in Toronto when he collected his windfall.

After checking his ticket, Muggleton pranked his wife before sharing the good news.

“I said, ‘We won $5’ and handed her the folded ticket. She unfolded it and started crying tears of joy. When I told my daughter I won, she started jumping up and down.”

Muggleton also won $2 on the Encore in the same draw.

He said he plans to manage his finances and treat himself to the toolbox.

“Maybe I’ll plan a trip to London too,” he said. “Winning is a fantastic feeling.”

Muggleton purchased his ticket at R&P Convenience on Simcoe Street in Tillsonburg.
