US policymakers have feared that China is using Tiktok for espionage.

The Chinese-owned social media platform Tiktok says it will shut down its service in the United States on Sunday unless the country’s administration changes its mind about the law banning Tiktok.

The US Supreme Court ruled on Friday that Tiktok’s operation in the country will be banned unless its Chinese parent company Bytedance sells it by Sunday.

Future President of the United States Donald Trump has said he plans to push for a negotiated deal on Tiktok.
