Those who planned terrorist attacks on Taylor Swift’s concerts in Vienna are between 15 and 19 years old. Most of the terrorists caught in Europe are now very young.

BERLIN. On Friday, the Austrian police arrested the fourth terrorist suspect, who they believe was involved in the planning of the terrorist attacks, pop star Taylor Swift’s concerts in Vienna. Three concerts were canceled on Wednesday.

All suspects are between 15 and 19 years old.

According to him, the number of terrorist attacks and their attempts has increased dramatically in the last ten months. Four times more plans have been revealed than, for example, in 2022.

Of the 58 terrorism suspects caught in various parts of Europe in recent months, 38 are teenagers, i.e. between 14 and 19 years old.

Who have been arrested and interrogated in Austria?

  • The main suspect is a 19-year-old Austrian citizen with roots in North Macedonia. He stole chemicals from his workplace at a metal processing company and quit his job at the end of July. On the Internet, he published a video in which he told about the plans. The authorities describe him as a fully radicalized Islamist who swears loyalty to the ISIS terrorist organization.
  • A 17-year-old Austrian citizen of Turkish-Croatian background is also in pretrial detention. He had been seen moving around several places in the Ernst Happel Stadium area, where Swift’s concerts were scheduled to take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. He worked in a company providing services at the stadium.
  • The 18-year-old detainee has arrived of media information to Austria as a refugee from Iraq. He too has sworn allegiance to Isis. The Austrian authorities intend to deport him from the country.
  • The 15-year-old suspect is an Austrian citizen with parents from Turkey. His role in planning the terrorist attack is unclear and he has been released. According to the Austrian media, he has told the police about the main suspect’s behavior before the arrests.
