Tiktok confirms for Echo that they have turned off the gift function on the account of noted Koran burner Salwan Momika, thereby throttling his money flow on the social media platform.
Tiktok has been criticized for both the company and Salwan Momika making money from him filming and live-streaming burning the Koran on the platform.
– I use Tiktok to reach out and explain to Swedes that Islam and the Koran are two dangerous things. What I am doing is something philosophical and enlightening, it is not hate, Salwan Momika has previously told TT.
The company has not commented on the reason for the decision.
1000 to 3000 per shipment
Internet analyst Mattias Beijmo has previously looked at several live broadcasts that Salwan Momika made on Tiktok and states that there were many gifts, so-called Diamonds, which can be exchanged for money. Momika has told TT herself that it is about SEK 1,000 to 3,000 per live broadcast.
Momika has also been high on Tikok’s weekly list of those who have received the most diamonds, i.e. money.
– It is clear that he is trying to maximize his reach and commitment in various ways. That is, for example, income he has from these broadcasts, Mattias Beijmo has previously said.
TV4 News is looking for Tiktok.
