In Throne and Liberty, the weather actually has an impact on the game world. Rain and wind in particular not only change abilities, but also play a key role, especially in PvP.
What can the weather do? Throne and Liberty not only uses weather for aesthetic effects or visibility, but also integrates it directly into the gameplay. Different weather conditions affect environmental interactions, abilities and even the monster’s strength and drop rate.
In addition, players who are at the top of the rankings are allowed to influence the weather. These gain a special ability to trigger storm wind, heavy rain or darkness, which they can use strategically in PvP. For example, rain blocks an attack path to “Rock Guard Castle”. Wind, on the other hand, affects the range of projectile weapons.

The weather cycles
Where can you check the weather? There are three main types of weather in Throne and Liberty: sunshine, rain, and wind (in weak or strong forms). Sunny weather is the default condition where the sky remains clear. Rain occurs randomly. However, it is likely that after about two hours of sunshine (120 minutes) a 30-minute period of rain will occur.
Similar to rain, wind does not follow a fixed schedule. It occurs randomly and can occur in different strengths, from light to strong wind. This means that it can vary regionally and is more noticeable in certain areas.
You can read the weather in the game, but there is no specific symbol for sunshine. Rain is well represented visually with raindrops hitting the screen. You can see the wind direction and strength on the minimap. An icon with text shows the wind direction, so you can see which way the wind is blowing and whether it is light or strong.
Sun
The most obvious feature with Sun is access to certain places. When it rains, many paths become impassable, such as the canals below “Burg Felswacht”. When the sun is shining, players can use these paths as an alternative attack route – but when it rains, they are flooded and therefore inaccessible. Since sunshine is the norm, only rain and wind can increase the drop rate and spawn tables for certain items and monsters.
Rain
Some abilities are enhanced in this weather. Lightning attacks with the staff can, for example, jump to multiple enemies in the rain. But rain can also strengthen the monsters. For example, plant-like monsters take less damage in the rain. In addition, the rain blocks some paths in the game or opens dungeons that are otherwise closed.
wind
Wind primarily affects the ability to fly and the range of projectile weapons. A strong tailwind increases the range of arrows, while a headwind reduces the range. In PvE, however, this is hardly noticeable, but in PvP it is.
Wind can also affect gliding behavior by allowing tailwinds to allow players to reach higher places. In headwinds, however, it becomes more difficult to climb to otherwise easily accessible positions.
Affect weather cycle
When you get ready for the big guild battle for Rockwatch Castle, you can influence the weather in your favor. If you are at the current top of the following rankings, you will receive the respective ability:
Effect: Summons strong gusts of wind in the line of sight for 10 minutes
Received: Number 1 in the growth rankings
Effect: Induces heavy rain for 10 minutes
Received: 1st place in the activity rankings
Effect: Summons a 10-minute solar eclipse
Obtained: 1st place in the kill rankings
The ability is only available to the server’s current leader, has a twelve-hour cooldown, and requires five Commander Seals.
The influence of the weather is noticeable during the course of the game, but is hardly relevant in PvE. However, things look different in PvP when rain blocks an attack route or the wind affects the range of projectile weapons. It becomes particularly important when leaders in the rankings actively change and use the weather to their advantage, which can significantly influence the outcome of a fight.
