Throne and Liberty entered early access on September 26, 2024. While some buyers of the early access packages got onto the servers without any problems, others struggled with problems. A long server downtime awaits you on September 27, 2024.

Update from September 27, 2024 – 12:00 p.m.: The Throne and Liberty servers are still offline and there has so far been no update on Discord, X and the official website that the maintenance work can be completed earlier than hoped.
Update from September 27, 2024 – 10:05 a.m.: The Throne and Liberty servers have now gone offline with a slight delay for upcoming maintenance work. The servers are expected to be available again in six hours, i.e. from 4:00 p.m. Every two hours you will find an update from us on the server status here.
How did early access go? It really depends on who you ask. A large number of buyers of the early access packages were able to log in and start playing on launch evening without any problems or had to be patient for a short time because they were sitting in a very short queue.
But there were also many players who didn’t get on the servers at all for the time being. All MeinMMO editors and authors with early access also had to struggle with problems. Some technical construction sites have now been fixed. Others remain acute.
Important: We will check the server status every two hours from 10 a.m. and release an update. So it’s worth checking back here regularly.

Early Access issues
What construction sites were and are there? On Steam, many buyers of the early launch packages explained that they were unable to start the installed Throne and Liberty after the Early Access launch because the start button was still grayed out. Others were unable to complete the installation because T&L would not unpack correctly.
When the problem was solved, many affected people ran towards the next wall: crashes and timeout errors when trying to log into the MMORPG. There were also long queues on various servers. Or you kept flying back to the home screen from the character selection screen.
Amazon Games responded and brought additional servers online. In addition, the player caps have been increased on selected servers – for example on all servers in the NA East region.
MeinMMO editor Karsten Scholz was able to log into the early access version of Throne and Liberty for the first time without any problems, at least this Friday.
What about the consoles? One bug that affects Xbox players of Throne and Liberty is particularly critical. They receive the message that they are not allowed to play multiplayer games due to the way their account is set up. This morning there was at least confirmation on X that they were working on the problem.
Server status and maintenance work
What have the developers announced for September 27, 2024? From 10 a.m. there will be unplanned server maintenance to resolve various construction sites. The downtime should be around six hours. Buyers of the early start version cannot fully enjoy their early start on the second day either.

You can find the latest news either on the official Throne and Liberty X channel or in the server status area of the official Discord channel. How many players does Throne and Liberty have? The peak on Steam last night was 53,884 simultaneously active players (via steamdb.info). It is unclear how many console fans will join us.
There could be further peaks at the weekend and at the Free2Play launch on October 1, 2024. By then it will become clear how successful the launch of Throne and Liberty will be in the West.
What else do I need to know about Throne and Liberty? Throne and Liberty will be released on October 1st, 2024 for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PS5. There will be crossplay between platforms.
