Throne and Liberty aims to address the MMORPG’s biggest problems – accidentally breaking 2 roles

In Throne and Liberty, the big castle siege event has just ended. The developers have learned from this and promise adjustments. But there are acute problems in the MMORPG.

This is the current situation with Throne and Liberty: The people behind the MMORPG have just announced improvements to PvP and guild alliances, but it seems like there are more pressing issues at hand.

  • On November 22, 2024, the MMORPG’s globalization design manager spoke to one of his Tico Talks, in which he discussed player feedback and plans to revamp PvP and guild alliances.
  • The day before, the servers for Update 1.8.0 went offline – and that’s exactly what’s causing problems now.

    Throne and Liberty promises changes before the next event

    This should change: The Tico Talks on November 22nd was about the castle siege of the previous weekend. The globalization manager promised to take the community’s feedback into account and announced improvements that will be implemented into the MMORPG before the next event on December 1st:

  • There should be some noticeable adjustments in PvP. Crowd control abilities will have to charge longer and purification stones will have additional options.
  • They also want to tackle the problem with mega-alliances. However, tact is required here, as changes could also affect guilds that would use the features in the interests of the developers. For now they want to stop the classification for enemy guilds.
  • On YouTube, people thank the developers for listening to the community and praise the transparent communication. However, other problems are currently being discussed in the Throne and Liberty subreddit.

    Tanks nerfed to death?

    What are these problems? Apparently Update 1.8.0 had an unexpectedly severe impact on 2 roles: healers and tanks. There seems to be an unfortunate combination of nerfs and bugs.

  • MoistSalamander1 complains that healing in T&L is a very unpleasant experience compared to other MMORPGs, especially with the nerf and the new dungeons: you have to keep track of so much and you’re constantly struggling with not having enough mana (via Reddit )
  • However, others counter this: If the damage dealers don’t block or move out of range, these aren’t healer problems. The new dungeons are now just so demanding that a healer can no longer carry the group alone by keeping everyone alive.
  • In another thread, Zenoran complains about the toxic players in the new dungeons, but also criticizes the developers: Why did the healers get a nerf just at the release of the most demanding content to date? (via Reddit)
  • The tanks apparently suffered even worse:

  • Own_Student3307 shows in a video how his tank melts away in seconds. Apparently there is a bug that affects stamina and evasion. This would effectively remove tanks from the game (via Reddit).
  • In another thread, Fongs-Fate reports that his tank’s HP was halved by a single mage with 2 hits. He asks: Why do you have tanks in this game if you don’t let them tank? (via Reddit)
  • There is heated discussion in the community about the players’ experiences. However, there is no real agreement anywhere: some see no problem at all and think that everything is being overdramatized. Others say tanks and healers are completely useless with the changes.
