In the thriller series, Keira Knightley takes on the role of spy Helen Webb, who, in addition to her dangerous job, also leads a domestic life as a wife and mother. In doing so, she passes on the secrets of her husband, a pompous politician, to her organization, the Black Doves.
When her lover is killed, Helen has to go into hiding and is given an unusual protector: the fallen contract killer Sam Young (Ben Whishaw). Together they discover a Conspiracy of global proportions, which operates from the London Underground.
In addition to Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Ben Whishaw (Paddington), Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley), Luther Ford (The Crown) and Finn Bennett (True Detective: Night Country) also appear. The series is the brainchild of Joe Barton, who developed the series The Lazarus Project and The Ritual, among others.

The first season of Black Doves is scheduled to air in December 2024 As Netflix announced during the Edinburgh TV Festival, the series will have a second season. It is not yet known when this will be released.
