Three years after the death of Jean-Paul Belmondo, his children are torn apart over inheritance

Three years after the death of Jean Paul Belmondo his children

The two daughters of the actor who died in September 2021 accuse their brother of having appropriated part of their father’s assets.

After Hallyday or Delon, it’s Belmondo’s turn to compete. Rather discreet since the death of Jean-Paul Belmondoon September 6, 2021, the actor’s three children, however, seem to be torn apart in court over their inheritance, according to information from L’informé. The eldest daughter, Florence, 65, and her half-sister Stella, 21, accuse their brother Paul, 61, of having appropriated part of the “Bébel” heritage, circumventing the inheritance rules in force.

In detail, they accuse him of having monopolized several assets which should have been withdrawn from his share of inheritance after the death of their father (“reportable gifts” according to justice). Among them, a luxury villa acquired by Jean-Paul Belmondo on the island of Antigua in the West Indies. The value of this property is estimated at 14 million euros. The youngest son is the owner, and he assures that the acquisition was made completely legally, while his sisters affirm that it is a hidden donation.

According to information from RTL, mediation has failed and civil proceedings are underway: the Paris court will have to evaluate the estate of Jean-Paul Belmondo and resolve the siblings’ conflicts. Stella Belmondo, youngest daughter and daughter of Bébel’s last wife, Natty Tardivel, is said to have requested an interim order for certain assets to be sequestered. However, this was refused.

It seems that this clash is not the first battle of its kind within the Belmondo clan. Stella Belmondo had in fact initiated proceedings against her half-sister Florence in the summer of 2023. She had accused her eldest of having benefited from “numerous disguised donations”. But the courts ruled in favor of Florence Belmondo, and ordered the youngest to pay 3,000 euros to her sister.
