According to the first analyzes, the fire is linked to an electrical defect, advanced Marc Mamet, mayor of Feyzin. This Wednesday morning, firefighters were still on site to monitor.

“Three dead, the results are terrible. The fire occurred shortly after 7 pm, it would have started at the circuit breaker. There were five people that evening, who all lived on site,” reacted the mayor to the Progress. This rather discreet family was appreciated in the neighborhood. “A fairly apocalyptic atmosphere, smoke did not stop rising, there was everywhere, the firefighters’ ball was very complicated. It was people we had known for many decades, who were very kind, “said a neighbor to BFM Lyon.

Difficult to access accommodation

55 firefighters had to be mobilized with 18 devices, allowing to master the flames around 11:30 p.m. Their intervention was difficult. They had trouble getting into the house, not only because of the extent of the disaster but also because it was very crowded. The increase in help has been slowed down by lots of objects and detritus up to 1.5m high, also accelerating the spread of flames.

At least one of the residents is, in fact, reached Diogenes syndrome. This results in an accumulation of objects and an important negligence of hygiene. This syndrome can also push for isolation. The fire soldiers then experienced a very trying intervention. A firefighter was even slightly injured at the neck. Psychological support has been offered to them.
