Three Russian Cosmonauts Head to the International Space Station

Russian cosmonauts Oleg Artemyev, Deniz Matveev and Sergey Korsakov will arrive at the International Space Station after a journey that will take more than 3 hours. Cosmonauts will stay at the station for 6.5 months and accompany scientific studies.

There is still a team of 7 people on the International Space Station. After 3 cosmonauts arrive at the station, on March 30, American astronaut Mark Vande Hei will return to Earth, along with cosmonauts Pyotr Dubrov and Anton Shkaplerov.

A few months later, 3 US astronauts and Matthias Maurer from the European Space Agency will hand over their duties on the station to the new team and return to Earth.

These 4 astronauts went to the International Space Station from Kennedy Space Station in Florida with the SpaceX company’s Dragon spacecraft.

Since 1998, scientists from 11 different countries have served on the International Space Station.
