It was in June that three boys, 15, 17 and 18 years old at the time, entered an apartment in an LSS residence in Lindbacken, Uppsala. While one of them threatened and then stabbed the newly awakened user – a man with Down syndrome – in one arm, the other two boys kept watch and filmed parts of the proceedings.

The three perpetrators then started a fire in the man’s apartment before leaving the scene with a stolen DVD player. When the police are called to the scene, they encounter the three young people and all are arrested. Near the scene, the police then found a knife with the plaintiff’s DNA on it, which has been used in the evidence. The damage from the fire is estimated to amount to SEK 130,000.

Now the verdict for the incident last summer has come. The three boys are sentenced for, among other things, aggravated assault, aggravated damage and aggravated unlawful threats – in addition to being ordered to pay damages to the plaintiff for the damage they have inflicted on him through the crimes. The three young people were also under the influence of both alcohol and drugs at the time, and all are therefore also sentenced to minor drug offences.
