Three new Finnish companies on the US Commerce Departments blacklist

According to the US Department of Commerce, Finnish companies have been involved in a plan to supply components to a St. Petersburg company that manufactures drones for Russian military intelligence.

Three new Finnish companies are about to be blacklisted by the US Department of Commerce, according to the ministry’s draft document.

Among them are Luminor and Siberica, which were already added to the US Treasury’s Russia sanctions list earlier this month. The third company to be blacklisted is Evolog.

According to the US Department of Commerce, Finnish companies have been involved in a plan to supply components to a St. Petersburg company that manufactures drones for Russian military intelligence.

A total of 28 new additions were made to the list. US operators are not allowed to sell products to blacklisted companies without separate permission.

Before the additions, there were ten companies listed in Finland on the black list. The new additions are the only Finnish companies on the list that have been added there since Russia started its war of aggression in Ukraine.

The CEO of two companies was imprisoned

The district court of Eastern Uusimaa imprisoned the CEO of Luminor and Siberica a week ago on Monday Gabriel Teminin. He was imprisoned for the most probable reasons, on suspicion of a gross regulation crime and the crime of foreign export of defense equipment.

The place of the suspected crimes is Vantaa and the time of the commission is from the end of April 2022 to Friday of last week. Customs demanded the arrest.

Vantaa-based forwarding and chartering company Luminor employs one person, according to information from Suomen Asiakastieto. The company’s turnover last year was 14.7 million euros. Turnover increased drastically last year, no less than 600 percent. The company made a profit of 447,000 euros.

The storage company Siberica, operating at the same address in Vantaa, employs two people, according to Suomen Asiakastieto. Last year, the company’s turnover was just under 700,000 euros, and it made a loss of 23,000 euros.

An Estonian who held management positions in Temin and Siberica Catherine Esther Temin are also persons on the sanctions list of the US Treasury Department.
