Chatham-Kent public health is reporting three new COVID-19 deaths in the municipality in the past week.

In its weekly online update Wednesday, the health unit said the total number of deaths is now 85 since the pandemic began nearly two and a half years ago.

No further information about the latest deaths was immediately available.

There were 63 new cases of the virus reported over the past week, which is an underestimate due to testing capacity throughout the province. The seven-day rolling average sits at nine cases.

Throughout the pandemic there have been 9,184 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Chatham-Kent. Three outbreaks are ongoing.
