It was during the Easter weekend that riots broke out when Rasmus Paludanparty leader for the right-wing extremist Tight Course, visited Linköping for a planned Koran burning.

Paludan was traveling in Sweden and visited Örebro, Linköping, Landskrona, Norrköping, Malmö and Rinkeby in Stockholm.

His visit received much attention and as a result of his stay, violent riots erupted with vandalism. More than 100 police officers were on the scene and the violence was quickly directed at them.

Three men are sentenced to prison after the Easter riots

Three men have now been sentenced to prison after the Easter riots in Linköping, something Linköping District Court announces in a press release to Aftonbladet.

The three men are convicted of gross sabotage against blue light activities. A 21-year-old man is sentenced to four years in prison, a 19-year-old to two years and six months and a 26-year-old man is sentenced to three years and six months.

“The district court has today convicted three men for together and in agreement with each other and several other accomplices having attacked and disrupted police activities by using force and threats of violence against police officers,” the district court writes.

A total of eight people have been convicted of participating in the riots in Örebro.
