Three men are sentenced for “torture-like” assaults

The victim was tied up and had his ear cut or clipped, beaten, kicked and threatened with death in an apartment in Västervik in mid-August.

Now three men are being sentenced by the Kalmar district court for extremely serious assault, local media reports.

Parts of the sequence of events were captured on film by one of the perpetrators, and the police came across the material when they searched the mobile phone in another case.

The court calls it “torture-like actions”, but the plaintiff has not wanted to admit that he was subjected to abuse. He says instead that the men are his friends and that the whole thing was intended as a “prank” to be posted on Tiktok.

All three men are sentenced, despite their denial, to five years in prison. One of them is also sentenced to deportation.
