Three patients at Södra Älvsborg Hospital in Borås may have died from being infected by a multi-resistant intestinal bacterium, Klebsiella oxytoca, which spread among the patients during the summer.
Now the hospital is making a lex Maria notification, local media reports.
The report to the Inspectorate for Care and Care (Ivo) concerns 13 patients who have been infected by the bacteria that has taken hold in some of the hospital’s environments. For three of them, it may have contributed to their death.
