Örebro opened the scoring in the Malmö arena, when Emil Larsson made it 1-0 after 8.39 of the second period.
Then Malmö took over the show.
And then it rang three times in the space of 49 seconds.
Adam Ollas Mattsson, Thomas Berg Paulsen and Joakim Ryan ensured that the home team got a three-goal lead before the third period.
“I don’t really think the start of the period is very good, but we work our way into it and get a good result,” says Markus Lauridsen, who was responsible for the equalizer, to TV4 Play.
Örebro’s Mathias Bromé:
“It’s the last two minutes of the second period that mean we go home with zero points,” he says.
— We let in too many chances, give them the goals and then it’s difficult to come back.
Malmö’s 4–1 lead became the foundation the club needed to secure its seventh win of the season in 17 games.
With 27 points, Malmö is one of the clubs chasing the Färjestad table.
— We don’t look at the table that much. It’s a long season, you have to be humble, play well over 52 rounds and then we’ll see where we end up, says Lauridsen.
However, the 4–2 victory may have cost two slopes.
Teemu Kivihalme was injured in a collision with the referee and later in the third period Matias Lassen also left the ice.
