Three face charges after drugs weapons seized by police in

Norfolk OPP have charged three people following a June 14 search of a Bell Street residence in Delhi that resulted in the seizure of drugs and weapons.

Officers found cocaine, fentanyl, a rifle, ammunition, a replica hand gun, prohibited weapons and drug paraphernalia during the search which took place just before 4 am Wednesday.

The search included officers from the Haldimand Norfolk Street Crime Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team and the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit.

Police have charged a 31-year-old Norfolk County man with two counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking (cocaine, opioid); possession of a firearm or restricted weapon obtained by crime; unauthorized possession of a weapon; two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm; three counts, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; two counts careless storage for a firearm and possession of a firearm known the serial number has been tampered with.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Police also charged a 33-year-old Norfolk County man with possession for the purposes of trafficking (cocaine); two counts possession of an unauthorized weapon and two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on July 25.

Police have also charged a 58-year-old Norfolk County woman with possession for the purposes of trafficking (cocaine). She is scheduled to appear in court on July 25.
