Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati has declared three days of national mourning in Lebanon after the top leader of terrorist-classified Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in an attack on Friday, reports Reuters.
The mourning period officially begins on Monday and lasts until Wednesday.
Najib Mikati has described Hassan Nasrallah’s death as “painful”. Furthermore, Mikati has said that Lebanon is facing major threats after the death of the Hezbollah leader.
Even neighboring countries such as Iran and Iraq have declared national mourning as a result of Nasrallah’s death.
33 people have died and 195 have been injured in the attacks in Lebanon on Saturday.
This is announced by the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has now spoken out about the attack that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
He says he himself gave the directive for the attack, because the IDF’s strikes against Hezbollah in recent days “have not been enough.”
Netanyahu calls Nasrallah “the central engine of Iran’s evil” and that his death was necessary for Israel to achieve its goals.
