The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) has calculated how much PFAS may be present in drinking water without any effects on health being expected. In 2019, an exploratory PFAS study was conducted on behalf of the municipality, in which the soil in the immediate vicinity of Fluortubing, located on the Kernkade, was examined. “No PFAS values were found in soil and groundwater higher than the background value in Utrecht,” the municipality writes. This value means that the soil is clean or uncontaminated.
