Three chimpanzees in Furuvik Park escaped on Wednesday. All three chimpanzees have been shot dead after a search operation with drones and snipers. This is confirmed by Annika Troselius, Parks and resorts information manager.
– This whole situation is tragic in every possible way. That must not happen. We must take full responsibility and investigate this, she says.
But a chimpanzee is still on the loose, Furuviksparken confirms to TV4 Nyheterna.
The emergency services were alerted to the incident shortly after 1 p.m.
– We have gone there to see if we can assist the staff with, among other things, drones, says the emergency manager at Gästrike rescue service to TT.
