On April 24, two males showed a handgun to a man playing a gaming machine at Jackpot City Gaming casino in Sarnia and demanded his winnings, police said. The victim refused and the men left.

The next day, suspects took shopping carts worth of groceries and other items, and filled a car with gasoline — from businesses on Williams and Quinn drives, Wellington Street, and Lakeshore Road in Bright’s Grove — without paying, police said.

Neighboring police services were alerted to the suspects and a vehicle involved, police said.

Provincial police located the vehicle at a Confederation Line residence near Mandaumin Road and arrested three people, Staff Sgt. Ivan Skinn said. A pellet gun resembling a firearm was found in the vehicle.

A teen has been charged with mischief after a driver intentionally damaged a popular city park with their vehicle, Sarnia police say.

Officers were called to Canatara Park about 10:20 pm Monday about an SUV driving on the grass. Officers found the vehicle and, through an investigation, determined the driver intentionally drove off the road, causing damage to the grass area that will require repairs, police said.

A Corunna resident, 19, is facing one count of mischief worth less than $5,000, police said.
