Three charged after gun fentanyl seizure Sarnia police

Three people were charged after officers seized handguns and nearly $3,300 in drugs after searching a Colborne Road property Thursday, Sarnia police say.

Vice unit and emergency response team officers seized loaded 9 mm handguns, nearly 19 grams of fentanyl and $4,625 in cash and arrested three suspects after a search at 9-975 Colborne Rd. following a “lengthy” drug trafficking probe, police said Friday.

“These types of criminal investigations. . . are increasingly multi-jurisdictional in nature,” Sarnia Police Chief Derek Davis said in a release. “We remain very concerned about the risks these handguns could have posed to our community and our front-line officers.”

A Sarnia man, 41, and a Toronto man each face weapons charges and one count of possessing property obtained by crime valued at less than $5,000.

A Toronto man faces several weapons counts and a charge of possessing fentanyl for trafficking.
