Three charged after $13K Chatham drug bust: Chatham-Kent police

Three men face after a nearly $13,000 drug bust in Chatham Wednesday, Chatham-Kent police say.

Intelligence and Critical Incident Response Team officers with a warrant searched a Taylor Avenue home at 4:17 p.m., police said.

Investigators seized about $12,870 worth of methamphetamine and fentanyl for analysis, a loaded .22 caliber semiautomatic rifle, several replica firearms, ammunition, drug paraphernalia and large sum of cash, police said.

Three Chatham men, ages 38, 31 and 40, are charged with possession of a controlled substance for trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, police said.

The 38-year-old man also is charged with 17 counts of failing to comply with a prohibition order and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking, police said.

He and the 31-year-old were held pending a bail hearing, police said.

The 40-year-old also faces five counts of failing to comply with a prohibition order and six counts of failing to comply with probation, police said. He was released with conditions and a Jan. 11 short date.
