Threatening Netflix change causes resentment in the community: “They get greedy”

In Canada, the basic subscription was recently removed from the Netflix offer, which the community doesn’t like at all. However, the change could soon be implemented in Germany.

Netflix’s basic subscription is being canceled in Canada. It cost C$9.99 and allowed streaming on one device at a time.

So if you use Netflix alone, you either have the cheaper option, but in which advertising is played (standard subscription with advertising) or you pay 5 € more per month with the standard subscription. An indirect price increase is suspected behind the change.

How does the community react to the discontinuation of the subscription model in Canada? There are numerous negative reactions to the removal of the option among various posts from CTV News and CTV Edmonton as well as reddit.

Some users fear that the change would come to them too. Many said they would unsubscribe should further price increases come their way, while others have already unsubscribed as they felt the platform was already “getting too greedy”.

    One can assume that Netflix wants to show the model less present, which the other three subscriptions and fewer people should choose. A complete elimination of the option would be conceivable.
