Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and his family were threatened with death. In a statement made by the Israeli police, it was reported that a letter containing death threats containing bullets was sent to Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Benett and his family. The police announced that they have launched a joint investigation into the threatening letter from the crime unit Lahav 433 and the Israeli secret service Shin Bet.

SENT TO FAMILY’S HOME

In the news in the Israeli press, it was reported that the letter in question was sent to his family’s house in Raanana instead of the Prime Minister’s Residence. While it is not yet known when the letter was sent, the court imposed a ban on the incident and prevented the details from being disclosed.

“IT IS MY MISSION TO PROTECT MY WIFE AND MY CHILDREN”

In a statement on his social media account, Bennett stated that the disagreements should not reach the level of “violence, bullying or death threats”, implying that the letter is political in nature. Bennett said, “I am the Prime Minister and a political figure, but I am also a husband and father. It is my duty to protect my wife and children.”

“WE WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT”

Coalition partners, including Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Defense Minister Benny Gantz, condemned the threatening letter sent to Bennett and his family. Lapid stated that the letter shows “where hatred can lead” and added, “We will continue to fight hate speech on the street, on social media, everywhere. “The extremists will not be able to defeat the sane majority,” he said.

Expressing that the threats are “to cross the red line”, Gantz said “one bullet in an envelope can turn into three bullets fired from a pistol”.

On the other hand, the police detained Bennett last year because of some citizens they threatened. (UAV)
